Hey, I’m James. I’m a trans cinematographer based in Niagara and the GTA, and a Canadian Society of Cinematographers student member currently studying cinematography in the Bachelor's of Film and Television program at Sheridan College.

My work is rooted in collaboration and experimentation. I believe the process of creating together feels just as important as whatever we end up making. Art, for me, is about connection. It’s how I make sense of being here, and how I reach for others through it.

My focus is on documentaries, music videos, and concert films. I’m interested in light as something felt rather than perfected, and I enjoy working across digital, 16mm, 8mm, and VHS to find the right texture for each story.
