Hey, I’m James. I’m a trans cinematographer based in Toronto, and a Canadian Society of Cinematographers student member currently pursuing my thesis year at the Sheridan College Bachelor's of Film and Television program for cinematography.

My work is rooted in collaboration and experimentation. I believe the process of creating together feels just as important as whatever we end up making. Art, for me, is about connection. It’s how I make sense of being here, and how I reach for others through it.

My focus is on documentaries, music videos, live music tapings, and queer stories. I love to play with light, texture, colour, and format. I find myself working in VHS, 8mm, 16mm, and regular cinema formats.
